School Holiday Programme at TAPAC

Circability will be teaching circus holiday programmes for two weeks at TAPAC in the upcoming holidays.

26 - 30 September
& 3 - 7 October
9am - 3pm

Circus skills teachers Sara Kidston and Jo de Carvahlo are inspiring circus artists experienced at working with all ages and abilities and will challenge students of all levels.

Sara Kidston is a professional aerialist and contortionist with 5 years experience in the industry as a performer and teacher. Her passion was first found in Tapac where she began training aerial trapeze and went on to train, teach and perform worldwide.

Sara's most recent experience has seen her training at the Beijing International Arts School where she has gained an immense amount of new knowledge to share with her students!

Jo Carvahlo hails from France but arrived in New Zealand 8 years ago. Now based in Auckland, Jo has been working for Circus Kumarani in Northland teaching circus skills to all ages and abilities from beginner to advance, from ground based skills to aerial for the past 6 years. Ex gymnast and theatre artist he specialises in cyr wheel, juggling, tumbling and hand to hand acrobatics. In 2015 he went to Melbourne teaching and studying at the Spin Academy and NICA. Jo and his brother Mat Merle run Spinnovation NZ.

Jo and Sara will teach students a variety of circus skills like juggling, unicycle, diabolo, hula hoop, aerial, balancing and acrobatic postures. The circus school students will give an informal presentation of circus skills at 2.30pm each Friday afternoon to complete the course.
